Easy Bulky Crochet Scarf Pattern
My First Design for a Yarn Company – an Easy Bulky Crochet Scarf Pattern
If you like working with chunky yarns, I think you’ll love this easy bulky crochet scarf I designed exclusively for the Wecrochet Winter Morning collection.

It’s called the Winter Garden Scarf, and creating this design was a new experience for me. Firstly, I don’t work with bulky yarns to often and secondly, most of my patterns are Intermediate level patterns. Being able to try something a little bit different, while following the certain standards and guidelines was really exciting. Kind of like writing an essay on a given topic.
Designing an Easy Bulky Crochet Scarf Pattern for a Yarn Company
It was my first time to submit a project for a yarn company, and I was thrilled to get a chance to design for the WeCrochet. It was a bit of a challenge from the start, though, since they don’t ship to Europe other than the UK.
Luckily, I’m blessed with a few wonderful crochet friends from the UK, always willing to help, which is truly amazing! Now, when you think about it, where else, except in the crochet community, is something like this likely to happen?

Crochet Friends Are the Best
I asked my dear friend Helen Heasman known as CrochetCrazyHelen on Instagram (whom I’ve never met in person, but I really hope I will) for the yarn to be shipped to her address and she forwarded it to me.
I know this post is about the scarf pattern, but I just have to say how grateful I am for having chance to meet such amazing, kind and positive people like Helen.
She’s also the most creative crafter I know, with her gorgeous little flower creations! You can see it for yourself HERE.
Quick and Easy to Make, and if You Add Pom-Poms…
Anyway, it took a while for me to get my hands on the yarn, so I was a bit behind (not much surprise there:), I seem to be running a lot…) but, still the project was done and the design was ready on time!
Because the beautiful yarn and those warm, fall colors (which I got to choose myself) were so inspiring, this scarf was finished in just a couple of days!
I think the pom-poms go perfectly with this easy, bulky crochet scarf design. Although there are several DIY methods for making pom-poms (I personally tried a few:)), I truly recommend using a pom-pom maker. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. I got mine when it accidentally fell into my cart while I was ordering some yarn online ha, ha… And it was maybe $4-5. It totally changed my pom-pom making experience from “Omg, I have to make pom-poms…” to “Let me just quickly make beautiful, rounded, fluffy pom-poms 😊”.
