Community Garden C2C Crochet Blanket Idea

I have to admit that the Community Garden concept was something new to me when I heard Helen from Sunflower Cottage Crochet talking about her fabulous idea of creating a blanket CAL. The idea of neighbors growing food together, collaborating on their ideas, socializing with people they might not have met if it wasn’t for the Garden and spend the time in nature in the middle of the city is truly fantastic!

Mushrooms in the garden would be so amazing. That was the first thing I thought of when I got the call from Helen to join the CAL.

There are 2 ways you can join the fun:

  • Collect the patterns as they are released. Each square will be a free chart on the designer’s blog post.
  • Purchase the bundle of all of the squares for an amazing $12.99 during the CAL!! The price will go up after the CAL is over.
  • I would be super grateful if you would use my affiliate link by clicking the button below.

What is the Community C2C Crochet Blanket CAL?

The Community Garden Blanket is a gorgeous C2C crochet blanket pattern designed by 19 crochet designers (including myself), gathered by Sunflower Cottage Crochet. We’ve created 20 gorgeous Community Garden squares that each feature a different C2C crochet element.

I really enjoyed making this square. I consider myself to be a beginner crocheter when it comes to C2C technique. After my previous experience with C2C crochet blanket Flower Garden CAL where I learned a few new things, I’ve decided to make this one a little more simple and .without to much color change.

As a C2C beginner, I have to say that the technique is fairly easy and you can make a square quickly… Unless you have more than 3 colors, or color portions. I used a few bobbins and in some parts I carried a yarn along. The final project is beautiful. Keep reading to find out how to take part.
